Our Scholarships

The Juventas Foundation believes that scholarship support should represent far more than financial assistance alone. Every scholarship administered by the Foundation was intentionally created to recognize, support, and invest in students whose leadership, resilience, ambition, and impact extend beyond themselves and into the communities they represent.

At a time when many young Black students continue to face financial barriers, limited access to opportunity, and declining representation within higher education spaces, The Juventas Foundation exists to affirm not only their potential, but their presence, purpose, and long-term impact. Through scholarship support, mentorship, leadership development, and educational advancement, the Foundation seeks to create pathways for scholars to fully pursue their ambitions without being limited by circumstance alone.

Each scholarship within The Juventas Foundation carries its own identity, philosophy, and purpose while remaining rooted in the broader mission of collective advancement. Whether centered around leadership, resilience, promise, scholarship, or legacy, our initiatives were built to invest in students whose journeys reflect both personal ambition and a commitment to uplifting others along the way.

More than awards, these scholarships represent intentional investments in the next generation of young Black scholars whose contributions possess the power to shape communities, institutions, industries, and futures far beyond themselves.

The Elevare Vir Scholarship

“To Elevate the Man”

The Elevare Vir Scholarship was established to recognize and invest in young Black men who embody scholarship, leadership, resilience, integrity, and service to others. Rooted in the Latin words elevare (“to elevate”) and vir (“man, virtue, character”), this scholarship exists to support students whose impact extends beyond personal achievement and into the communities they represent.

The Elevare Vir Scholarship was created from the belief that true leadership is not measured solely by accolades, titles, or individual success, but by the willingness to uplift others along the way. It seeks to recognize young men who lead with integrity, persevere through adversity, serve with intention, and understand the responsibility that comes with access to opportunity and education.

At a time when young Black men continue to face systemic barriers within higher education — including financial hardship, declining college enrollment, and limited institutional support — the Elevare Vir Scholarship serves as both an investment and an affirmation. It exists to remind students that their ambitions, leadership, and future impact are worthy of intentional support, visibility, and opportunity.

The Promissum 1867 Scholarship

“The Promise of 1867”

The Promissum 1867 Scholarship was established to honor the promise, ambition, and future impact of incoming Black scholars attending Howard University. Rooted in the Latin word promissum (“promise”) and Howard University’s founding year of 1867, this scholarship recognizes students whose journeys reflect vision, perseverance, intellectual ambition, and commitment to carrying forward the legacy of excellence at The Mecca.

The Promissum 1867 Scholarship was created from the belief that attending a historically Black college or university represents far more than a personal academic decision. It represents the continuation of a legacy built upon scholarship, leadership, resilience, culture, advocacy, and collective advancement across generations of Black students and leaders. This scholarship exists to invest in students who understand both the privilege and responsibility that comes with carrying that legacy forward.

At a time when many young Black students continue to navigate financial barriers, unequal access to opportunity, and systemic challenges within higher education, the Promissum 1867 Scholarship serves as both recognition and investment. It seeks to support scholars whose ambitions extend beyond personal success and whose educational journeys possess the potential to create lasting impact within their communities and beyond.
